In Yerevan, at the intersection of Nalbandian and Tumanyan on the second floor of a three-storey house in 1926 – 1928 years lived and worked founder of Armenian classical symphonic music Alexander SpendiaryanN. In this building – built in 1925 by architect N. Buniatyan for A. Spendiaryan apartment chose the architect A. TamanyanN. Now the building is included in the state list of cultural – historical monuments of the city of Yerevan, as a monument of national importance. In 1967, it was in this apartment was opened house – museum of the composer, which is the first musical memorial museum of the country. Sounds of magical music accompany visitors to the apartment of the composer, which provided personal belongings tell about the life and work of the composer indicate invaluable role in the development of musical life in the early 20th centuryN.
The collection includes personal belongings, documents, correspondence and manuscripts of the composer, which represent the relationship of the composer with such prominent figures of culture, as Rimsky – Korsakov, A. Glazunov, C. Rachmaninoff, F. Chaliapin, M. Gorky, Anton Chekhov, N. Tolstoy, O. Tumanyan, M. Saryan, V. Surenyants. In the museum houses a manuscript score of the opera "Almast" and the only surviving poster Yerevan productions, which on January 20, 1933, was opened Armenian Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. We also present an original musical instrument made by the composer in the early 1900s from a leather belt and 12 bronze bells. The tool was used in the symphonic picture "Three Palms", announcing the movement of the caravan N. Rimsky – Korsakov jokingly called the tool "spendiarafon" .
In the study of the composer – which in remained as if the composer, are witnesses of his creative achievements – Piano C. Bechtein, violin, desk, where a portrait of his beloved wife, and a red rose. The museum is equipped with modern technology that allows you to see the works of Spendiaryan, as well as try their conductor's possible with a single region in the interactive game "Virtual Conductor". The museum has a concert hall where you can organize different events – concerts, workshops, and etc.
